ToggleAdmiral have informed about some modifications to their car and van policies to their clients from the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
Admiral informed about the changes, why they changing, and what it means for all covered clients.
Admiral said they are no longer allowed to insure any automobile or van clients who reside in Guernsey, Jersey, any of the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man as of September 1.
Moreover, they said, their auto and van insurance clients are underwritten by a Gibraltar-based company.
The Gibraltarian government recently enacted a new rule that forbids insurers operating there from offering motor insurance to citizens of the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
Even if your renewal deadline falls after the first of September, they can still insure you if you currently have a car or van policy with them.
They are unable to renew the policy after it has reached its renewal date.
You’ll need to insure your car with a different company.
Before the renewal date, they’ll get in touch with you to directly inform you of the change.
If you attempt to request a quote through their website, they won’t be able to do so after entering your address.
Their experts will inform you if you call for a quote that they are unable to insure your vehicles.
Except for adding a new vehicle, you can still make modifications to an existing insurance policy you have with them until the renewal date.
Any necessary changes or updates to the information can still be made.
Customers who don’t reside in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man but intend to travel there by car while on vacation will still be insured.
The legislative change does not apply to any other types of insurance save auto and van insurance.
There have been no changes to your policy if you have pet or travel insurance with them.
